First time at Blue Water OB. We arrived at 5:20 PM on a Thursday evening and the bar was full but the tables were only 1/4 full. They offeresd bar seating, booths indoors and a lot of tables outside, to give you an ocean view. It was only 100 feet from the sand. The restaurant was seat yourself, peruse the menu, order at the counter and wait for your food type. We started with six oysters and then my wife ordered the Mussels and Clams Plate and wine. I got the Wahoo Plate and a Blackberry Margarita. In all, it came to $99.72 plus tip. A bit steep but the view was exquisite. Our drinks arrived in about 10 mins and dinners about 10 mins after that. The shellfish broth was incredible. I'm not much for clams or oysters but a dipped a piece of her bread in the broth. Wow. Savory, rich, buttery, garlicky and heavenly all at once. My Wahoo plate was equally outstanding. The fish was moist, fresh and cooked spot on. It was served over jasmine rice, which was also prepared perfectly. The salad, with dressing on the side, was very well crafted. The chunky bleu cheese dressing on the side was killer. I'll be back.

Today our food was excellent! Clams and mussels in white wine were perfectly cooked and seasoned. They make the best onion rings too! We also had seared albacore plate which was generous and so fresh! Service was fast and friendly too! You can buy fresh caught fish from the deli case and prepared dishes . The location is just across the street from the ocean and patio seating is available. Parking on the street is free.

Surprised to learn of this location. For years I have only been going to the other one. What a killer location for seafood. It was a bit chilly so we dined in. We happen to be here during Happy Hour, so we ordered 4 of the tacos off that menu. WOW!!! I didn't expect them to be so BIG! $5 per taco was a stellar deal. I could barely finish two. Love that the fish was grilled. It was loaded with condiments. The combination of fish and crisp cabbage was delicious. I was surprised at the cheese layer under fish. I don't normally put cheese in my tacos so it could have been left off. The fish case was a beautiful display of freshness. It makes it almost difficult to decide what to get. The cashier was friendly and accommodating when we asked for sauce on the side for two after the order was processed. We grabbed our number and a table next to the bar. Our food was out in less than 10 minutes. The restaurant slowly filled up as we were eating. It's a great spot for some really good seafood. Will be back again when I'm craving fish for sure!

Service was amazing. Food was delicious, I had the halibut my husband had the scallops. Best calamari we've ever had.

Blue Water Seafood in Ocean Beach, San Diego, completely exceeded my expectations and deserves every one of its five stars. During a recent trip to San Diego for my girlfriend's conference, we stumbled upon this gem, and it quickly became a highlight of our visit. The combination of fresh, delicious seafood and a breathtaking ocean view made for an unforgettable dining experience. We sampled a variety of dishes, including the calamari, fish and chips, and a fish sandwich, and everything was cooked to perfection. The calamari was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, the fish and chips were perfectly battered and flaky, and the fish sandwich was packed with flavor. You could tell that the ingredients were incredibly fresh, which made all the difference in the taste. But what truly elevated our experience was the stunning view. We timed our meal perfectly, arriving just before sunset. Watching the sun dip below the horizon over the Pacific Ocean while enjoying our delicious seafood was simply magical. The combination of great food, friendly service, and that incredible view makes Blue Water Seafood a must-visit spot in Ocean Beach. I highly recommend it and can't wait to return.

Came to Blue Water for their Friday HH of $1.50 oysters but ended up getting other menu items as well! The HH oysters weren't the best but definitely a great deal of a dozen for $18. Additionally we also got fried calamari, fish and chips, mussels and clamps appetizers, oyster shooter and the lychee martini. In general I think the portions are good for the price. We loved the waffle fries of the fish and chips. The mussels and clams appetizer had a big portion too and was a good deal! The place is set up so that you order at the counter and find your own seat. I'd recommend this place when you're craving seafood!

This is one of my favorite seafood spots in San Diego. Compared to the original location, this one is less crowded, with ample parking and more seating options. You have the option to enjoy eating indoors or outside overlooking ocean beach. I've been here many times, and the food is consistently excellent. This visit, I started with the clams and mussels appetizer. The seafood was fresh, and the white wine sauce was delightful --perfect for dipping the toasted, buttery sourdough bread that came with it. For my main course, I opted for the blackened steelhead trout salad with blue cheese. The trout was cooked to perfection, with a generous portion that left me satisfied. One of the things I love about this spot is the flexibility in their menu. You can enjoy your fish as a taco, sandwich, or plate, which makes it easy to cater to any craving. Prices are reasonable, especially given the quality and portion sizes. Service is friendly and efficient. After placing your order, you're given a table number, and the staff brings your food and utensils. There's a self-serve water station, but they also have a nice selection of drinks if you prefer something else. This location has become my go-to for out-of-town visitors. It's a perfect mix of great food, a laid-back vibe, and excellent service.

This place is next to OB Surf Lodge. One of our favorite seafood spots in town! Great fish options for purchase. The seafood is very fresh and across from the beach with very nice views. Staff were friendly and helpful. Service was sufficient. We ordered the Homemade Nee England Clam Chowder with bread bowl, Rockfish with Lemon Garlic Butter, and Blackened Halibut blue plate dishes. Everything was delicious with lots of leftovers! A must visit for seafood lovers

Long line but fast service. Great location on the beach and reasonable prices. Wasn't our first choice because the place we wanted to go was closed but glad we stumbled on it. Sashimi app was fresh- warm rice with it was odd but I didn't hate it. Would be curious to try other things!
